Start Date: 10/01/2023
End Date: 09/30/2024
Abstract: LibTech is a technology outreach program initiated by the Washington State Library (WSL), which aims to modernize IT infrastructure in small and rural libraries across the state. LibTech offers centralized managed services for firewalls, routing, switching, and access points. This enhances broadband capacity and lays the foundation for advanced services like cybersecurity, VOIP, and helpdesk support. LibTech provides affordable, high-quality IT solutions that small libraries cannot achieve independently. These upgrades empower libraries—key community anchor institutions and essential hubs for digital equity—to meet modern expectations and offer expanded services to their patrons.
State Goal: Goal 1. Promote economic growth, access to education, and lifelong learning for all.
