Abstract: The Salt River Tribal Library aimed to provide informal education opportunities to adults/seniors in the community. Funds were used to purchase new tech equipment and furniture as part of the Mobile Makerspace. State Library resources were utilized, such as Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center. Community Members benefitted from a focused and dedicated part-time staff member for outreach, and instructors to address the digital/technology literacy desires of the community members. This supports the SRTL’s mission and goals to provide enriching programs and activities for community members. Additionally, building relationships with tribal department’s supports the Salt River Tribal Library’s mission and goal of collaboration and partnerships.

One major result is the increased usage of the library by adult and senior community members, through the establishment of regular sewing/crafting classes, beading circle, and book club. Establishing additional partnerships with the SRPMIC Senior Services and IT dept has been highly beneficial.
Please briefly describe the importance of these outcomes and findings for future program planning:
Future program planning will include partnerships with the Seniors Department. The IT Department Customer Care division has asked Tribal Library staff to lead instruction on digital literacy classes that they hold for adults for career growth at the seniors centers. Regularly scheduled Makerspace classes for adults are planned, and the beading circle will increase their programming to once a week.
Explain one or two of the most significant lessons learned for others wanting to adopt any facets of this project:
One of the most significant lessons is the desire for culturally relevant programming. Some of the highest attended programs were related to indigenous plants, food and arts relevant to the community.
