Title: Resources and Grants for Youth Services in Libraries
Narrative: The Youth Services Consultant curates and shares resources on youth services-related topics, develops and administers grants, and creates circulating kits to augment library programs. This activity includes significant support for summer reading programs by providing manuals, training, and a community of practice for youth services staff who facilitate summer reading. During this reporting period, the grants to libraries included support for online tracking services for reading challenges and professional development grants to attend the YALSA Symposium conference. Resources created included 13 booklists, monthly newsletters, and guides. This activity also includes the administration of clock hours credits for teacher librarians at seven events, for a total of 2,112 hours for 361 attendees.
