Narrative: The Digital Content Modernization program at St. Mary's County Library provided hosting, updates, and trouble-shooting for iterations of the Palace App -- the "one app to rule them all." It federated content from 8 different ebook platforms into one easy-to-use place. Additionally, the program offered state-of-the-art accessibility features. Over 15,000 free titles were available and added to the State's Digital Library consortium titles.

Title: Telehealth at the Library
Narrative: The Washington County Free Library received grant funding to purchase an inclusive, ADA-accessible Telehealth Pod. Displays for health-related books and informational brochures, to be installed at the main library in downtown Hagerstown, were also purchased with additional grant funds from another source. This project aimed to bridge the digital divide and provide badly needed access to better healthcare for the medically underserved and under-resourced populations surrounding the Fletcher Branch of the Washington County Free Library and to expand services at this location.

Title: Memory Lab for Digital Preservation
Narrative: People's personal histories are often captured in increasingly outmoded formats by devices that are becoming scarce. The resulting histories are subject to degradation and often cannot be accessed once the devices that create them break or are unavailable. Memory Labs allow for conversion and digital preservation from obsolete formats (audio cassettes, VCR, 8 mm film, photo, slides, etc.), allowing memories to be preserved for the future, and in many cases, enjoyed again for the first time in a long time. This grant program extended an already popular service to two more library branches. This project allowed residents--and the library--to preserve memories stored in old and outdated formats digitally, and helped families create personal albums that also preserve local history.

Title: Mobile Community Computer Lab
Narrative: The mobile library computer lab project aimed to bridge the digital divide in the Kent County Public Library's large rural county on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. With limited internet access and no public transportation, this project brought technology and educational resources directly to the community. By providing patron and staff laptops, every department has the tools to offer programming tailored to their expertise. The project will not only met people where they were but also decreased the disparities caused by lack of access and technological knowledge. In addition, the equipment supported the library's STEAM-based teen program.

Narrative: Wicomico Public Library's STEAM Studio project overhauled and relaunched an outdated and no-longer-used computer lab at the flagship Paul S. Sarbanes Branch in Downtown Salisbury. The library replaced the old, static computer lab with a modular, multi-use programming space emphasizing innovation, flexibility, and accessibility. The new STEAM Studio offered a wide array of STEM and arts programming focusing on all age groups, from robotics with children to basic digital literacy for adults.
