Abstract: The California Library Collections Initiative enabled California public libraries to offer online access to the New York Times to their users so that they could access news about local, national, and international news. Ninety-seven percent (181) of California public libraries currently offer the New York Times through the statewide subscription to their communities.

Explain one or two of the most significant lessons learned for others wanting to adopt any facets of this project:
The shift to 72 hour access from 24 hours resulted in fewer requests for assistance from public library staff. It is highly recommended that any state wishing to offer this project statewide opt for this access period.
