Abstract: From sub-recipient: We purchased another moveable bookcase (the LibraCraft 60”) from Demco. This beautiful bookcase replaced three old and heavy metal bookcases. This bookcase is on wheels so we can move both moveable bookcases around the room to make space for summer reading and other special programs in our children's room. It also has a flat top so we can display books which the metal ones didn't have. The ends are flat and we can post the shelf identifiers there easily. Our old metal shelves were open so it makes shelf labels a lot more tricky. The children’s room looks beautiful and we’re very proud of these new bookcases. We plan to purchase more with our memorial money. We had leftover money because Demco was able to give us a discount on the bookcase. We spent almost $400 on Brandon Sanderson, Warriors, and Owl Diaries books that have been repeatedly requested by our kids and teens. This bookcase has increased the circulation of books and the appearance of the children’s room.

Project Outcomes
Project Outcomes
List any important outcomes or findings not previously reported:
From sub-recipient: I expected the children's room to look nicer and more modern because of the new bookcase and it certainly does. The shelf labels on the ends are a huge help to care givers and children checking out books. The displays on top have increased circulation of those items because patrons grab front facing books first. I had planned on having more space for summer reading and story time, which we do. Usually when we have special presenters, we have them on the west side in the young adult area but this summer we had David Marsh come and we had enough room to move the bookcases in the children's room. We had around 25 people on that side which we've never been able to do before.
Please briefly describe the importance of these outcomes and findings for future program planning:
From sub-recipient: We have so much more space not only for books but for programming because of this new bookcase. The library board is so impressed with the two bookcases we've gotten that they want to spend some of their memorial money to replace the other four metal bookcases with moveable bookcases so we could move the entire room of books out during programming. That would make a huge difference for programming opportunities. In the past, we had the Lego Guy come and our attendance was too high for the space we had available and we had to move to the village office instead of the library. I'm a staff of 1 so we had to close the library during that performance. Now, we can have a lot bigger attendance, keep the library open, and stay here at the library which will increase circulation as well.
