General Information
Title: ARPA - Library Info You Need @ One Site
State Project Code: ARP-34
Start Date: 01/01/2022
End Date: 12/31/2022
Abstract: Through the services of CC Communications, we developed a website (https://mineralcountylibrary.com/) that allows our patrons to find everything they need from the library in one convenient spot. From experience, we know that many patrons do not have Facebook accounts and do not read the newspaper, but they do surf for information on websites. COVID era restrictions and the resulting increase in patrons phoning for information on services, clearly highlighted the need for meeting the patrons needs in this way. From the first page of the website, patrons can access and discover the many offerings of this library as well as ways to contact and connect with the library.
State Goal: Goal 4: Build capacity of libraries to meet evolving information access needs.

Title: Mineral County Library Website
Narrative: Through the contracted services of CC Communications, the library developed a website which supports all aspects of library content, programming, and services. The website reflects the ARP priority of reaching patrons whether in or out of the library particularly in support of education, health, and workforce development - all areas highlighted in library collections, services, and programming. CC Communications contracted for the design and printing of branded bookmarks, book bags, and magnets displaying the website URL: https://mineralcountylibrary.com/ Project partner: Hawthorne Utilities, in Hawthorne, Nevada, mailed informational flyers promoting the new website in the October utilities bills.
Intent: Improve users’ ability to obtain and/or use information resources.

Project Outcomes
Project Outcomes
List any important outcomes or findings not previously reported:
The reactions of those patrons who we know have viewed the site - https://mineralcountylibrary.com/ - were all positive and enthusiastic that the site gives so much information. Both the Library Board of Trustees and the Mineral County Commissioners gave very positive responses when introduced to the website. Patrons did comment and ask questions after they received a flyer in their utility bills. No statistics for the website are available yet due to incorrect links on the admin page, but they will be logging as of December 15. With a website launch event in January, we hope to get meaningful feedback directly from our patrons.
Please briefly describe the importance of these outcomes and findings for future program planning:
Even though the findings are slim at this point, the library staff members believe that patrons will use the site and the library will see increases in usage as a result.
Explain one or two of the most significant lessons learned for others wanting to adopt any facets of this project:
This is the type of project that will have a long life. It will take time to discover if more patrons attend events or utilize more services as a result of seeing them promoted on the webpage.
Do you anticipate continuing this project after the current reporting period ends:
Yes
Do you anticipate any change in level of effort in managing this project:
Yes
Explain:
One area that will increase in level of effort is staff involvement in updating the website. The original project included a web maintenance plan through CC Communications. CC Communications then discontinued that service so training and website maintenance will be taken over by library staff members. In addition, this project took longer than anticipated to complete so we did not have time to include a website launch event, which will now take place in January. Staff will demonstrate how to access the new site, how to access areas of interest on the site and then, how to use devices to download apps to access services highlighted on the website. Branded bookmarks, bags, and magnets will be distributed to help patrons remember the URL of this site. Refreshments will be available through the generous support of the Friends of the Library.
Do you anticipate changing the types of activities and objectives addressed by the project:
No
