Activity Details
Title: Annual Public Library Survey
Narrative: In coordination with IMLS, the Arkansas Public Library Survey (PLS) collected IMLS-designated data, data that are useful in the work of the Arkansas State Library, and data that are frequently requested by publicl ibraries in furtherance of their service to their communities. Added data elements were reviewed to ensure their continued usefulness, and new data elements were considered to meet the changing needs of libraries in Arkansas. Multi-day training workshops were provided virtually to assist users in completing the survey, and results from the 2021 survey are currently being formatted to make them easier to understand and apply to the library environment. Work began in January 2022 to explore new collection platform options that would support the usability of the statistics for all designated Arkansas library employees.
Intent: Improve library operations.
