Project Outcomes
Project Outcomes
List any important outcomes or findings not previously reported:
The services and equipment acquired allowed the Middletown Library Service Center staff and the Division of Library Development Consultants to safely serve librarians with physical spacing, adequate ventilation, and more safely segregated work spaces. These services provided a needed lifeline to public librarians burdened by the conditions of the pandemic. The Niche Academy databases provided important self- instruction tools for public librarians temporarily removed from their normal duties.
Please briefly describe the importance of these outcomes and findings for future program planning:
Niche Academy will become part of our tool kit for professional development.
Explain one or two of the most significant lessons learned for others wanting to adopt any facets of this project:
The need for physical spacing during the height of the pandemic led to the need for movable furniture that allowed easy reconfiguration. The ability to rearrange spaces for different kinds of professional development and partnership meetings has been revealed to be a good in itself.
