Title: Workforce Partnership Initiative
State Project Code: 40-9245
Start Date: 10/25/2021
End Date: 06/30/2022
Abstract: The San Diego Public Library and the San Diego Workforce Partnership collaborated to expand awareness of, and access to, career development services and resources in the community. They achieved this through in-person workshops, staff cross-training, visual displays, and coordinated marketing efforts. Workshop attendees of all ages gained knowledge and skills related to career development. The inclusive flexible workshop model, that focuses on the entire family, allowed attendees to learn in-person at varied locations and also virtually. Staff of both organizations gained a better understanding of the resources that each organization offers. The development of program posters highlights the collective resources on a convenient web landing page. Through collaboration, marketing teams of each organization are now familiar with each other and each team's individual processes.
