Title: Consultation
Narrative:
State Library staff provided phone and email consultation to any library that needed assistance with the Traveler digital resources. Several webinars, tutorials, and LibGuides were added to the State Library’s website to support asynchronous training on the resources. Although most districts returned to in-person instruction during FY2021, many schools implemented a one-to-one device program to promote social distancing in classrooms. This increased the demand for consultation-especially concerning off-site access.
The State Library’s Website provided an email address and phone number for any Traveler related questions, and librarians were welcomed to contact staff with their questions. This included general questions, authentication questions, reference questions, best practices, troubleshooting, and training. As some schools returned to in-person instruction, the request for in-person and virtual training opportunities also increased.
Intent: Improve users’ ability to obtain and/or use information resources.

Title: Resource Acquisition
Narrative:
The Arkansas State Library Traveler Advisory Committee is comprised of representatives from school, public, academic, and special libraries. They were charged with the evaluation, selection, and procurement of digital resources.
In 2020, the Traveler Advisory Committee completed the most labor-intensive activity of their three-year term- the triannual Request for Proposals (RFP)and resource selection process. The Advisory Committee’s primary responsibility during 2021 was to serve as a liaison between their colleagues and the AR State Library to communicate any needs or concerns. Overall, K-12 librarians and teachers expressed gratitude for the addition of InfoBase’s Science resources to the collection.
The Traveler Project provided 74 resources through four vendors.
