Abstract: The primary purpose of this service is for the State Library (SLAA) to provide talking book materials for circulation. The North Dakota State Library Talking Book Service provides talking books to 1,516 North Dakota citizens who are vision impaired or unable to hold a book. Talking books are mailed at no cost to the patron. Readers' advisory staff assist patrons signing up for the service and for book selection. A volunteer program exists to record North Dakota books and magazines.

Service proved to be vitally important to patrons served in our nursing homes during the pandemic as other services were limited.
