Title: Volunteer Program
Narrative:

Joeten-Kiyu Public Library's robust Volunteer Program connects caring people from Saipan, Rota, and Tinian to a great cause. The JKPL's dedicated volunteers are an integral part of the library's operations. They help the library leverage limited resources and fulfill its mission to enhance the quality of life in our diverse community by providing opportunities for lifelong learning, by creating spaces and opportunities to connect and engage, and by fostering a love of reading and commitment to literacy.

JKPL has a rich history of working closely with volunteers. Dedicated volunteers from all ages, backgrounds, skill sets and phases of life assist library staff to extend the services and programs the library can offer to the public.

This program is in partnership with the Friends of the JKPL and is open and ongoing. The JKPL honored Volunteers by hosting an award ceremony in the Children's Library during AmeriCorps Week from March 7-13, 2021. CNMISL created informational video promoting volunteer services at the JKPL and celebrated volunteers with care packages and distribution of free books for all volunteers. Volunteers conducted Read Alouds, created Packages to Go, and led Saturday Storytime with song and dance.
