Title: Requests for digitized materials
Narrative: As videos are digitized there are requests for DVD copies of various programs, traditional stories, or proverbs etc that can be made available from the digitized materials  Also often people request various types of traditional information that may only be available or exist in the digitized materials, so this collection acts as an important resource for the community
Intent: Improve users’ ability to discover information resources.

Project Outcomes
Project Outcomes
List any important outcomes or findings not previously reported:
1. Many of the traditional stories being digitized from the video and audio tapes are no longer available because the original informer has passed away. 2. Many of the items, stories, proverbs, chants etc. that we have available in audio or video format are not known by anyone living today which makes the digitizing of these items even more valuable for the community.
Please briefly describe the importance of these outcomes and findings for future program planning:
Since many of the available recordings are one of a kind and no longer known by anyone living today these resources will be of great value as we are able to make them available to the public once they are digitized. Also in the future we may be able to transcribe some of the stories, legends, and proverbs and compile them into books, or make them available to the Ministry of Education to be used in the schools.
Explain one or two of the most significant lessons learned for others wanting to adopt any facets of this project:
The digitizing of these very valuable recordings have increased our appreciation of the elders who were willing to share their knowledge with us at Alele and have furthered our understanding of the many traditions, customs, and ways of life that were common knowledge in the past. As others become aware of this collection their appreciation of their own culture will also be enhanced.
