Abstract: The purpose of the READS program was two-fold: 1) to meet the strong public demand for library materials 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, making it possible for patrons to access materials regardless of work schedules or distance from a physical library and 2) to support member libraries in making the transition to a digital collection by providing a titles and a platform that also allows libraries to purchase new content with local funding. The READS collection contained digital audiobooks, E-books, magazines, and streaming video and was available to all Tennessee residents served by the Regional Library System.
