Title: Readers Advisor Position
Narrative:

Federal funds were utilized to fund a Reader Advisor position for LABM. This Reader Advisor served patrons of all ages, statewide. Over the course of the fiscal year, she processed 3,591 patron contacts (phone, email, and postal mail combined).

Title: Large Print Purchases
Narrative:

Large print books were purchased with federal funds to supplement the braille and audio materials provided through the National Library Service for the Blind & Physically Handicapped/Library of Congress.  In LSTA2020, 584 large print books were purchased with federal funds.

There are currently 9,404 titles in the large print collection.

The large print collection circulated 5,266 items during the federal year.

Activity Details
Title: LABM Reading Room Computers
Narrative:

Three desktop computers, three large-type keyboards, and three adaptive mice for dexterity accessibility were purchased for the Library for Accessible Books and Media (LABM) reading room. No software was purchased. These computers will serve two primary purposes:

    1. Provide access to public access computing for TSLA/LABM visitors who require adaptive hardware.
    2. Enable LABM staff and outside trainers to conduct individual computer training sessions with patrons who are learning to use adaptive computing tools.
