End Date: 09/30/2021
Abstract: The library purchased 12 laptops for the public. Eight laptops will be used to promote digital literacy and workforce-related skills. The other four laptops will be used by the general public to facilitate access to resources while preventing the spread of COVID-19. Library patrons can use these laptops throughout the building which allows them to sit somewhere that allows for good social distancing practices, as well as providing convenient mobility within the library for a caregiver who may need to balance their work with taking care of a child. The library also purchased a free-standing hand sanitizing station with sanitizer. This was installed by the front doors of the library for all to use upon entry and exit of the facility. This allowed up to decrease the spread of germs and increase the safety of library use for patrons and staff.

Project Outcomes
Project Outcomes
List any important outcomes or findings not previously reported:
Yes, they were what we expected. However, since full funding was not received, we were not able to purchase the requested software for the laptops or the full amount of the COVID-19 mitigation supplies with grant funding. Since these were necessary purchases, funding for them was provided by the regular library budget and the costs were offset by a reduction of spending elsewhere.
Please briefly describe the importance of these outcomes and findings for future program planning:
None
Explain one or two of the most significant lessons learned for others wanting to adopt any facets of this project:
Administrative data shows that we were able to purchase all needed cleaning supplies to respond to the pandemic and keep our staff and patrons safe. No COVID-19 cases in the public were traced back to usage of the library. Class participants filled out surveys. Participants rated the quality of the classes very highly, indicated that they learned something new, and requested continued classes in the future. A survey was provided for laptop users to fill out. Only one user returned a survey, but it did indicate that the user preferred to sit in a location with more space between themselves and others.
