Project Outcomes
Project Outcomes
List any important outcomes or findings not previously reported:
Librarians dedicated time to the training on the use of the hardware and software bought. The project served approximately 1,112 senior citizens from the surrounding community and 36 students with disabilities, for a total of 1,148 users with special needs served.
Please briefly describe the importance of these outcomes and findings for future program planning:
Library participants, including senior citizens, are very pleased with the training aspect of the project and all the new skills learned. Many adult and senior participants need more time to master technology skills. Surveys and questionnaires are good tools to auscultate users’ interests and needs, so the library can plan accordingly.
Explain one or two of the most significant lessons learned for others wanting to adopt any facets of this project:
Libraries should support any technological and educational needs of users and dedicate time to the training of the required skills necessary for the mastery of information access skills, lifelong learning and employment support skills.
