Project Outcomes
Project Outcomes
List any important outcomes or findings not previously reported:
The fill-rate for public library requests was 59%. This is an excellent rate given the number of requests for popular material received from public library patrons. Fill rates were 94% for school library requests, 90% for museum library requests and 81% for hospital library requests. Requests filled included articles that were delivered electronically to end users at their desktop and/or to library staff. These requests were sent, on average, within 24 hours.
Please briefly describe the importance of these outcomes and findings for future program planning:
Interlibrary loan of physical and digital materials remained popular in Minnesota, and the Minitex ILL and delivery system continued to be robust and efficient.
Explain one or two of the most significant lessons learned for others wanting to adopt any facets of this project:
Interlibrary loan and delivery services are an important equalizer among libraries in Minnesota. In comments we received this past year, patrons who have limited access to resources through their local libraries expressed their appreciation for, and the value of, the interlibrary loan and delivery services.
