Project Outcomes
Project Outcomes
List any important outcomes or findings not previously reported:
Participation in the national program for public library data collection is important for measuring annual changes and making comparisons among libraries, with other states, and for assessment of trends.
Please briefly describe the importance of these outcomes and findings for future program planning:
The data collected from public libraries and comparisons with past years aid in assessment of service trends, needs, and performance. Data also help libraries make comparisons with peers for their own assessment and planning.
Explain one or two of the most significant lessons learned for others wanting to adopt any facets of this project:
A skilled and dedicated data coordinator is critical to effective and successful data collection and reporting. A competent and effective coordinator works closely with libraries during the data collection process, responds to requests for help in a timely manner, and closely monitors reporting to assure data accuracy.
