Narrative:

LSTA funds were used to contract consulting services including communications, community outreach and engagement, and survey support for the development of the DC Public Library’s five year strategic plan.

Title: Library Programming Initiative
Narrative: DC Public Library used LSTA funds to provide partial support for consultant services related to programming in a renovated central library.  LSTA funds supported Phase I of the project which comprised reaching out to DC residents for recommendations on new and existing programs.  Phase II of the project will comprise final reporting and will be funded with numerous sources in the following fiscal year.  These sources may or may not include LSTA funds.

Findings from the workshops and community engagement concerning programming and staff models will be used in the strategic planning process in addition to the focus group findings. The strategic plan, which will include goals, objectives and initiatives, is in development. We expect to finalize the plan in the first half of calendar year 2016.
