Title: Content - Search and Retrieval
Narrative: LSTA grants funds are used to provide search and retrieval access to approximately 6.95 million items available through Missouri Digital Heritage. Several digital collections were added to the database during this year: Maclay House contributed a collection of glass plate negatives taken largely by Edgar Gleim Maclay; the Missouri Botanical Garden contributed a collection of correspondence from the George Engelmann papers; and several libraries in collaboration with the State Historical Society contributed newspaper collections covering the Bolivar Free Press, Boonville Weekly Observer, Brookfield Gazette, Brunswick Weekly Brunswicker, Buffalo Reflex, and Butler Bates County Record.
Currently, seven grant projects are in progress: the third round of digitization for the World War 1 collection, Over There, by Springfield-Greene County Library; the second round of digitization of St.Louis area city directories by St. Louis Mercantile Library at the University of Missouri – St. Louis; the second round of digitization for historic newspapers of Franklin, Gasconade, and Warren Counties, by Scenic Regional Library, in collaboration with the State Historical Society; and four other newspaper digitization projects by Carter County Library, Hickory County Library, Marion County Library District, and Missouri University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the State Historical Society.
The Missouri State Archives added the state papers of 2 Missouri governors, bringing the total number of governor's papers collections to 24.
